U2 talking to iTunes/Apple to offer live downloads

    i don't really like U2 that much, but this is great news! not just for apple, but for the concept of downloadable music. you know being able to get eminem or greenday album is great, the real promise of itunes is in offering out of print work, live music and giving artists the ability to release music outside of the album/single format. now if only the record industry would get rid of their silly regional access restrictions; there are several tracks and albums that i would like to get from the u.k. store, but i can't :(

    A little bit on the bleeding edge…

    It's not completely possible because the DRM wouldn't let you drag the tracks back into iTunes, but it would be neat if - at the end of each night - you could buy an iPod shuffle loaded with the mixing desk's mix of that show or, at the very least, the previous show with that set list.

    A quick way to make sell 200,000 shuffles I would have thought.
