This is the first time any of the iOS devices I own has done this. It's only happened once so far while browsing Amazon but I'm a bit concerned. Is this a fluke that just happens to any device on a rare occasion or is it a indication that there is a hardware issue and likely to happen more?

    Here's the diagnostic report:

Apparently this is a common issue affecting devices running the A7 chip and the 64bit version of iOS such as the iPhone 5s and iPad Air. I haven't run into an actual blue screen yet on my phone but have had a few springboard crashes. Wait for Apple to release an iOS update as this seems to be a software issue as opposed to a hardware one.

I think it's an iOS 7 problem with the new A7 processors. The iPhone 5s were experiencing that issue too. It happened once to me only and hasn't since.

I have 2 iPad's and neither has ever generated a BSOD. If you are within the return window you might want to make an appointment at an Apple store to have it checked out for peace of mind.

I have an iPhone 5s and an iPad 4 running on iOS7, neither of which has done this (yet) so it was a bit of a shock. I hope it's just a software issue.

I have an iPhone 5s that I received on Oct 15 and been using it constantly since. I just had the BSOD happen to me once during that time. I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens more than once a week. After all, it's under warranty for a year. You have plenty of time to wait and see if serious problems develop.

I had an usual occurrence. I forget what app I was using but all of a sudden from the left of the screen a red color slowing came scrolling across then I think a blue color scrolled and the the air shut* down and restarted. Never experienced anything like this w the first 3 iPads I've owned.

That's what mine did! Except it scrolled from top to bottom (I was holding it in portrait position). I was on Safari shopping on Amazon looking at the Braun series 7 electric razor. LOL

I had it happen once on my 5s ended up having to put it in DFU mode and restoring it.

I also think it was worthwhile creating a new topic because iOS crashed once.

I've owned all iPads except the last one and I've never experienced a crash like this before & I've had apps shut down on me. This shouldn't be happening on a brand new iPad air.

Probably 4,1 is wifi only Air, and 4,2 is the wifi+cellular model. Could be the other way around.

    I think iPad 3 were 3,1 and 3,2, maybe 3,3 too. I'm guessing iPad 4 used higher 3,x numbers.

EDIT: And yes, here is a list of iPad numbers.
    http://m.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=8500

    So iPad 3 was 3,1-3,3, iPad 4 was 3,4-3,6.

Air and Mini 2 are getting 4,x numbers.

I bought an ipad air 32gb this week this evening I tried to purchase the apps: iworks + ilife that are suppose to be free. I can't download them I have no idea why any other app is working fine. I switched on/off the ipad and tried to purchase those apps again and since then the ipad is in an infinite loop (no word game i'm serious) I m getting black screen with white little stuff that is turning and then blue screen then the white screen with the apple and back to the beginning... I don't know what to do ! anyone ? thanks

So far, the one BSOD has been the only one on my Air. I've been using it non-stop and it's been perfect since. Seems to have been a fluke thing and I'm no longer concerned. :)

Sounds like a defective unit. I'd take it to Apple and have it replaced.
