    So let me get this right ...
    - the labels want to charge much the same retail price per single or album delivered electronically as they do delivered physically
    - they want the retailer to earn less per sale delivered electronically
    - they want the artist to earn less per sale
    - they have fewer costs
    - they are :not: greedy ...

    Yup - that sounds reasonable.

    (yes - they MUST maximise earnings for their owners - but this sounds like monopoloitic or oligopolistic behaviour - "gouging" - to me)
