    Hi everyone,

I'm moving to Apple after quite an stretch away- had the 5s for a while, but not too long. I'm planning on heading to the Meadowhall Apple store Friday morning to queue up and attempt to purchase an iPhone 7 Plus 128GB. I preordered on but the delivery date is weeks away!

I've never queued before so am looking for advice on what time I should arrive, what necessities there are to have with you and the likely hood on getting a 7 Plus 128GB from the store? :)

    Thanks all!

    Thanks will do!

Anyone here got any experience lining up in the UK or even at that particular store? What time should I aim to get there? Will they even have any stock?

Judging by some of the posts in this forum in recent days there may well not be any for sale for walk ins. I think you might be extremely lucky and the only possibility may be those not picked up on the Apple upgrade program or those that have preordered for pick up but have changed their mind and ask for a refund instead.

The stores have no stock for sale on the day, it's all reserved and in store pickup orders. If you queue you will just be wasting your time.

From what I've heard from Apple Store staff and various friends and colleagues who work in stores, not only will there not be any walk-in stock, but there will be no queueing allowed.

So you can create your own queue if you want, but you'll be ignored.

Reservations only. No walk-in purchases. No queueing.

Apple stopped walk in/queuing for new product launches when they released the Apple Watch last year. Cited customer wellbeing and health and safety behind the reasoning of making it order and reservation based

That's not what I wanted to hear to be honest!

Hm. OK, that's a real bummer.

So who's risking it and attempting to queue Tomorrow/Friday Morning?

Yeah, I know. Had to try though :p

I got the resounding impression from quite a few stores that they have the stock there now, or at the very least know exactly how manh they've got vs how many are reserved. But they just weren't allowed to say!

They were all very tight lipped and kept to the company line that'd they'd advise they don't do walk in's, its mainly around the reservations now.

I was thinking John Lewis actually :) but apparently someone said they won't have any plus models on day of release :(

Was thinking of third party stores but don't know if they will have stock either :/ it's a wild goose chase this year

Hmm. Perhaps should have given them more thought then. Really after the Plus model, which I'm fairly sure KRCS will have a few off and since they're not doing reservations or pre-orders, if I get their quickly enough...

9:30 as always and I don't think they'll open early for iPhone launch.
