I stumbled upon this shocking article online, which is trying to tell me that Subway... Can this possibly be true?
Er, not around here it isn't. Mind, I'm not exactly in the demographic that's their target post-pub crowd.
Personally, I would rather avoid Subway. We have a Quizno's in the Printworks in Manchester but I would rather avoid that too!
I wouldn't say that they're a great place to hang out, but i occasionally meet friends there, and eat of course! They have three in our town, one open until 3AM on a saturday/friday!
Better than Mac D, BK or Wimpy - Yes Restaurant, trendy - No I will definitely choose a Subway when I need lunch but if it is late at night, nothing beats a Kebab! Of course, health is out of the window by that point! Have you ever tried to eat a doner kebab sober? It is horrible
Usually, trendy is a non issue at bar close... any place that will feed you is automatically amazing, and if the food actually tastes good, it's a major plus. My favorite bar close food story involves sitting on milk crates in the parking lot outside a pizza place eating from the pizza box and talking to people who just came from a pool hall (with their pool sticks in cases), which we were convinced were really archers (because the cases looked like quivers, and we were drunk).
I think only idiots who want to pay more for crappy food would eat at Subway over here. I've seen a Quiznos in Central London but never ate there. I hated it in the States and I'm sure it's just as bad here.
Subway? Trendy? London? Hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahah ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahaha... aaaaahaha... hahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahaha. Ha. Naturally, I take all my travelling visitors to London to Subway for a slice of the glittering nightlife, post-soiree aperitifs and finest delectable snackky-things. (Subway's OK once in a while. Depends on the time of day and the mood of the people behind the counter.)
Never been in one so I don't know, but then again it amazes me that any fast food chain has customers at all but as they seem to survive some people must think they're trendy.
For some reason it's always jarring to me to hear of fast food chains referred to as "restaurants". The term is usually reserved for a little more up-market premises in the australian vocab.
I thought upmarket in Australia meant that you drink the wine straight out of a bottle that is not broken at the time?
I'm wondering the same thing, are Subways even open that late? I know in the States, the ones in Walmart Supercenters are open 24/7, but why would anyone want to go there after a night of partying.
I may be wrong but I'm sure one of our subways (we must have about 12) shuts at 7am on weekends and opens at 9am again. Or I may have just thought it was open, but I know its open pretty late. Its not trendy though. But really after being out I'd prefer a burger and some chips or something, not a sandwich! hhah *okay I checked and we actually have 15 subways!
Subway or any fast food trendy. I just threw up in my mouth a little. My group of friends has always hit a diner after clubbing. While you can order anything you want, I always enjoyed having breakfast at 4 or 5 in the morning.
