(UK) To be clear, if I'm in a contract I HAVE to go to an O2 store?

I'm currently on month 16 of my 18months but would like to get a 3GS on Friday and am prepared to pay the two months to get out of it.

So, from what I can gather, considering I will need to sign another pay monthly contract, my understanding is that I cannot pre-order and cannot order online but must go, in person, to my local O2 store on Friday and hope they have a 16GB black 3GS in stock.

    Am I right with that??

    Thanks

That's correct, you cannot pre-order the iPhone with o2. You can however pre-order with CPW.

However, You might not need to pay to get out of your contract, o2 run a priority list service which depending on your monthly spend will enable you to upgrade up to 6 months early.

Thanks for confirming that. Will the priority thing still work with CPW?

If you pre order with CPW you will be taking out a new contract, not upgrading.

CPW Can do upgrades for O2, but they cannot take the money for the remaining two months of your contract. You may however, be able to pay off your contract over the phone, giving you the choice of either store when you actually go to upgrade.
