Sorry but that is a little over board allowing the government to have any access to that info with out a warrant.

I'm sure not only our governments; as they will not have enough people to deal with those data (or skills) I'm sure they will be happy to extend the processing to some 3rd party

Similar to this private security firm could run uk police station

Outrageous. Don't they realize that true terrorists will always find ways to get around their security measures? The only people suffering from this bill will be ordinary citizens.

I suppose that this was going to happen sooner than later. No government is immune, they are all just trying to cover their collectivearses.:(

The cost that will be passed on to the consumer.

Get me the **** out of here. Anyone who is up to anything seriously ill will cover themselves with proxies and hardware setups and won't be affected.

Wouldn't surprise me if they pass the information on to firms to send fearmail to music downloaders and other petty offenses.

Next big thing for many of us will be learning how to access the dark internet and sites there becoming popular with the average netizen.

Wow. Like with most (all?) internet laws, those who devised it don't actually understand anything about the internet. If somebody can build a bomb, the surely know how go over to torproject.org and cover their tracks pretty effectively in about 1 minute.

The USA does that now. Patriot act and minimum retention rules. Nothing new. And I'm sure mi5 have been doing it for a while.

The uk CCTV trend basically paved the way to remove all privacy. The masses swallowed it.

They can't even string a system together for the NHS, let alone store this amount of data..... I'm confident in the fact that the government's inability to deliver ANY project will keep us safe :)

I'm fairly sure GCHQ have been doing this for quite a while anyway, with or without disclosing it publicly, so it's probably not really big news. I'm not a terrorist and I'm not important enough to be blackmailed, so I don't really give much of a hoot.

Incidentally, does the GCHQ building remind you of anything?

Rather apt, if I do say so myself.

I've got a hunch this is happening much more than we know about, or want to know about.

Seriously? The NHS would LOVE the funds that go into this type of effort.

Remember, this is about control of the population, not something picayune as their health.

    Somewhat .

    You always see a vagina.

I see a nice piazza, to eat lunch in.

Either that, or the symbol of the New World Order.
