Someone should tell University of London that they shouldn't be upstaging the comedians with their own joke.

Guessing there will be no one there nearly as revolutionary as George Carlin was in challenging the limits of speech, comedy and the censors.

I wonder how this comedy would fit into their parameters?

Doesn’t fit the progressive narrative. Must be a conservative.

If I was a comedian, I’d tell them to get bent if they asked me to sign something like that.

Sounds like the perfect venue for the late Richard Pryor.

OK, a few facts amongst the frothing. It's not the UoL nor is it even SOAS it is a group called UNICEF on Campus who issued the contract their statement said:

“We are a group of students who … do not represent Unicef or any student body. We extended an invitation to guests with the idea of hosting a comedy night to raise funds. Given that Unicef is a children’s charity, we wanted to make sure it was an appropriate event for the cause. We would never wish to impose that guests would have to agree to anything they do not believe in. We apologise for the misunderstanding.”

The comedian (so called ) said:

“Obviously performers shouldn’t be allowed to go on stage with the intention of being racist or homophobic,” he said. “But comedians play with ideas and sometimes we stray over the line, or are perceived to have done so. It’s vital that we’re not prevented from playing with ideas in that way or forced to sign contracts that mean if that happens, we’re held up as having broken our word.”

I personally disagree with the students who issued the contract and think they are wrong but lets not blow this out of proportion by saying the largest University in the UK (by student numbers ) is making anybody sign anything about "safe spaces".
