P2P services may contain viruses. What's a "virus"? As a mac user I'm not familiar with that term  ;)

Well, this is an interesting read.

First of all, how many people are downloading illegal music from websites? I think most if not all those sites have been shutdown either due to overbandwidth usage or because they were shutdown by the RIAA. IMO, it seems they don't have a complete grasp of the situation.

I don't know about you but I get more of an image of gestapos more than someone getting busted for downloading illegal music.

I'm no computer guru but I don't think anyone has downloaded a virus embeded in an mp3. Sure, screwed up songs yes, but never a virus. If they're refering to software, then shouldn't you have antivirus software anyways? I think a lot of the viruses we hear about come from emails and such more than software piracy.

Apple's got the right idea I think. Compete with piracy not send SWAT teams down people's throats. My company produces a products that can be copied with today's current technology. As many people have stated, even a 12 year old could make copies. So how do I deal with it? I make my product better with a professional presentation. I give them more for their money. So in the end it makes them think, it's easier (and cheaper) to just pay and get the good stuff.

This campign is so pointless. It won't do a thing. They could've built a g5 cluster for that much.

I think the ads are directed at parents that don't know much about computers, in order to make them afraid and then monitor their children more closely and buy them iTunes gift certificates:D

    Give me a break.

Downloading files don't give users Viruses... bad downloads give users Viruses.

Come on people, unless you Search for 'Virus that can harm my computer' there should be nothing like what they explained in the article.
