I just read a fascinating book called UNORTHODOX by Deborah Feldman (bought it from Amazon). Its her life story - growing up in a Hasidic Jewish area in NYC until her "escape" from her life of opression. Scary that people still live like this. Reading how her family treated her and other women, I kept picturing them living decades ago but would then be jolted back to the truth - that she this happended within a decade and, obviously, still continues to today. Highly recommended to all.
