Hi all. I have a late 2013 MacBook Pro. The processor is an i7 and is still great and has handled everything I have thrown at it and same goes for the ram....but...the hard drive is only 128gb. Now...I've found this website that sells hard drive kits for the Mac (Macsales.com)...
At first I thought..great! My ideal configuration would be about either the 480gb or 1tb hard drive and would only cost my a few hundred. But then I thought...this is a 2013 model. And I think I read that Mac has stopped supporting the 2012 computers and calling them "legacy"..so mine must be next on the chopping block I'm thinking...
I don't care about scenarios where my MacBook Pro stops working and I have to buy a new one because I always back up so if it goes I'll be ready to pay...but I don't understand why apple can't keep supporting the software on my computer. The Mac OS I mean. Especially for things like security...
So if they will discontinue support for my MacBook and I can't upgrade next year when the new OS upgrade comes out...should I just get a new MacBook Pro now? I don't want to shell out 300-400 for a hard drive only for apple to tell me that my computer is legacy (obsolete) in the fall when the new OS comes out.
anyways..thanks in advance for your help.
