Upgrading bluetooth on G5 iMac

    I needed to get a desktop for my office asap so i got an iMac g5 from ebay without builting bluetooth, is there a way i can install an internall bluetooth? i would rather not get an external one since i dont want to use a USB.

    Sorry, no. BT is only available as a BTO option. If you want BT, a dongle it will be.

    The Apple BT module is actually part of the iMac "midplane" (aka. logic board, system board, motherboard etc). As rdowns said, the only way to add after purchase is with an external USB BT module.

    this is just not true

    if you can find an authorized (or someone who has the part) dealer. who then is willing to sell you the 1" x 3/4" board you CAN attach it internally into the iMac G5 (just like the PowerMac G5). I do not know (as of yet) if the antenna is routed in the iMac like it is in the PowerMac G5 (all of them, bto or not). am sure an owner of a iMac G5 could verify.
