I run a late 2014 Mac Mini (2.6 GHz, 8GB RAM, 250GB SSD) with Mojave on it and would like to upgrade to Monterey, which is far as my Mac Mini will go. But I'm concerned about my machine being slowed down. Anyone else have experience of a similar set-up?

Everyone's usage, experience, and perceptions are different. You'll have some think it's fine while others may think it's slow.

Make a backup and upgrade. If it works for you, great! If you think it's slow, then downgrade back to Mojave (or try Catalina or Big Sur).

I have been considering the same for my early 2015 MBA. Although I have not done it yet everything I read about upgrading to macOS Monterey is favorable. If you do upgrade expect your computer to be slower than before until the index process is complete.

Thanks for your thoughts, though your 2015 will possibly be more powerful that my 2014 Mac Mini. Can you tell me what spec your MBA has please?
