If I buy the iPhone 3G on Friday morning (assuming the 2.0 firware has not yet been released for download) and have my service from the old iPhone transfered to the new one, does anybody know if I will be able to upgrade to the new Firmware on my old phone (even though it's already been disconnected)? I know there was some talk about being able to use the original phone as an iPod, WiFi device after it's been disconnected but I wasn't sure if I'd be stuck with the old firmware on it (since I'd no longer have a "subscription" on it). It would be nice to be able to put games/apps on the old phone as well... Just wondering if I should hold off on buying a new phone until I've upgraded the firmware on the old one.

Yes, you will be able to upgrade to the new firmware and use the App Store and all the new features.

Yes you can apparently AT&T put a memo out saying your old iPhones will still be able to used as an iPod so to me that means u can update!
