The sooner Aleppo falls, the sooner the civil war will end.

Obama/Hillary are not interested in that, they want Assad out, makes no difference how many families they kill in the process.

That only means anarchy will rule until a new structure takes over. "Nature abhors a vacuum".

I dunno... Is it a brand of dog food?

Sorry to put words into Gary Johnson's mouth.

And the sooner the massacre of innocent civilians by the tens of thousands. Oh, and we'll be rewarding Russia for taking a military approach to conflicts. And perhaps Syria will take up making illegal chemical weapons again. And sponsoring state terrorism.

We're damned if we do, damned if we don't. We might as well do the right thing: crater the runways that the Syrians and Russian use for their planes.

the "right thing" is for us to leave their civil war ALONE instead of fanning the flames there.

Totally agree with this. We have a habit of jumping in and mucking things up when we have our own troubles here to deal with. I never understood why we felt the need to play world police.

    Anarchy already rules.

Probably not. Russia wants to keep Assad in power. They're not interested in massacring Sunnis. Furthermore, with the end of the civil war begins the U.N.-supervised reconstruction of the rump Syrian state. They'll be in the global spotlight and too busy to worry about massacres.

What is the point of having an awesome military if we don't use it?

I think this is being optimistic. UN forces were present and simply swept aside during the massacre at Srebrenica, which was perpetrated by another violent regime supported by Russia.

It's better than the status quo. Srebrenica was an inexcusable act of cowardice by the Dutch, though.

That feeling when the opposition in a “Syrian” “civil war” is nearly entirely comprised of foreign invading jihadist terrorists trying to overthrow your secular country and install a non-secular jihadist caliphate, with full backing of state sponsors of terror: Saudi Arabia, United States, Israel, Turkey, Qatar, United Arab Emirates.

Bing. And removing Assad will have the same effect that removing Gadaffi and Mubarak did in Libya and Egypt respectively.

The U.S. is not a state sponsor of terror. The American cluster bombs that the Saudis are dropping on civilians in Yemen are "democracy capsules."

When the White House and CIA are arming terrorists including al-Qaeda and ISIS and other jihadists who behead children, they’re certifiably a state sponsor of terrorism.

You know, we're so ****ing stupid we don't even bother to sanitize that ordnance before selling it to the Saudis. I've seen dozens of photographs of cluster bomb fragments in Yemen with American markings all over them. Like we don't care who knows it.

The store I went to for other tobacco purposes had signs saying that you were to call them water pipes, any deviation and you would be asked to leave.

Back on topic, I was watching an Assad interview with ABC I think it was, the interviewer kept trying to push him into saying he was in a war with America. I didn't get finish it so can't comment much. The US needs to stay out of the Middle East.
