I recently had a Samsung Galaxy Xcover6 Pro device and it's charging cable that came with it seems to snug a bit more tighter on my iPhone than the original Apple USB C cable.

Can it be an issue if I use the Xcover6 Pro's charging cable on my iPhone?

If i use the Apple one, it seems not tight and I also cleaned some lint from the charging port using a dental plastic pick.

But the Samsung phone charging cable feels more tighter though.

The Samsung cable is a 3A USB-C cable.

I don't use fast charging. Don't need it on my iPhone.

I tested it again using the XCOVER6 Pro USB-C charging cable and this time I shooked the iPhone and this cable seems tighter and doesn't fall out from my iPhone.

Would this be ok to use with my iPhone?

No USB-C cable should “fall out of your phone”. If the Samsung cable is very snug, I would not use it. I only use Apple or Anker cables and they all feel about the same when it comes to connecting them. There is a “standard” for these cables and they should all have the exact same size connectors.

OK. I placed the Apple cable in as well and this time I kind of gently pushed it inside the charging port and the cable did not becomes loose.

Maybe the charging port itself is faulty?

I will have to try this again next time my phone needs to charge.

"Snug" is o.k. I avoid cables where you have to use so much force that it feels like it could shear off the contacts with time, thus reducing connectivity with cables that are more loose. The 3A cable shows you how much current can maximally flow through the cable (more or less, how thick it is). USB charging on an iphone is 5V-15V, mostly, so your maximum charging power equals 15V*3A=45W. (although the iphone doesn't use more than 35W, afaik). The Samsung cable should be fine for this.

the apple braided cable fits my phone snug. With the tiniest amount of wiggle.

But I mostly use a ugreen cable. Which fits nice. And lights up when it putting out current (with a ^ ^)

I only use (quality) 3rd party USB-C cables for the iPhones and iPads in my household. The Apple-cables are simply to short to chill on the couch or in bed while having the device plugged in.

Got some 2m- and some 3m-long Anker cables, the braided ones, certified up to 240W charging.

The original 1m-Apple cables are all untouched in the boxes of the corresponding devices.

So just to confirm that the Samsung XCover6 Pro's USB-C cable should not do any damage on the iPhone?

However, I will still give the Apple cable a chance the next time the phone needs to be charged.

The connector should slide in easily, meet a slight resistance and click at the end. If it did not click, you have not inserted it all the way. I do not think the port, itself, is the problem unless you damaged it when cleaning.

Any quality cable that meets the basic USB C specifications will work fine (higher-spec cables like thunderbolt ones should also work but are overkill). I say this because there are data-only or charging-only cables that may or not may work. There are also some android cables that don't have all the pins connected in the cable (I haven't yet seen this of any Samsung cable, though).

I have no idea if your Samsung Galaxy Xcover6 Pro charging cable meets the basic USB C specifications. I imagine it does, but I really don't know. Just give it a try -- it'll either work or it won't.

iPhone Seems to be charging with the Samsung Galaxy Xcover6 Pro USB C cable. I'll try find some images since I threw out the box for the cable. I know it's a 3A cable and not 5A.

I think this is the one I have. Like I said I don't have the original box...
