Hi,

I have a HDD enclosure which usually uses a lead like this to connect and power the drive.

I only ever have to use 1 of the USB A cables to both power and transfer data from the drive.

I am now trying to use this drive with my 2016 Macbook Pro using the following cable but it doesn't appear to power the drive/work.

Can someone explain why or where I'm going wrong?

Do you know how many amps the drive+enclosure needs? It appears the cable limits the amps to 2.4
