I have a PowerMac Blue and White G3. It has Panther, and I want to install Tiger on it. But when i try to boot from tiger cd, i get an error saying to like upgrade to PowerMac1.1 software or whatever. But i downloaded the 1.1 thing and it is for os 9 or below. So I need to install classic on this. I have my Powerbook cd's which have classic, but when i try to use them on this it says like "this cd is not made for this computer"
is there any way i still can??
thanks,
zach

You could try starting the PowerMac in FireWire Target Disk Mode (hold command-T while booting), and then connect it to the Powerbook, and use the PB to install OS 9 on the B/W's hard drive. I don't know if this will work, it's just a thought. It seems like I might have read somewhere that B/Ws don't support FireWire Target Disk Mode, but I can't remember for sure.
