I have been watching all week. A steady stream of phones some unlocked, some locked, some scruffy, some quite shiny. All making good money.

I am perplexed. I was convinced that with a 4s out a second hand 4 would drop a lot, and 3gs would plumet.

But not so. Threads are full of people saying they have paid little to upgrade since the sale of their old phone has covered the cost of their upgrade to a 4s.

    Why this high demand?

I want to pick up a used 3gs for less than $150. Will this ever happen?

Supply and demand. Lots of people still want an iPhone but don't want or can't afford contracts.

Most UK phone recycling companies are paying more than $150 for a 16GB 3GS.
