Using External Hard Drives and iTunes Sharing?

Is this possible? I know iTunes has a very simple sharing tool through a home network, but all of my music is on an external hard drive and therefore my music cannot be played by others.

Are there any solutions for wirelessly sharing an external hard drive without unmounting it from my own computer?

Hope no one minds that I will bump this one time... the forum is crazy busy with the release of itunes 8 and the ipod updates so hopefully someone will have a solution for me. :)
