I want to know if the iPhone 4s (AT&T) can make/receive calls or handle texts while tethered to my iPad 2 (wifi only)?

Can a iP4s (AT&T) be used as a hot spot for the new iPad 4G LTE from Verizon if you do not have the cellular data service turned on?

How many other devices can be tethered to the iP4s at one time?

Are there any specific apps that should be installed on the iDevices that have been known to make the whole process of tethering easier with ATT?

Please provide a answer to my questions if you can or ignore this thread - no need to waste any of your time suggesting that I do a search since I already decided to take this approach - thanks.

    The 4 & 4S hotspot is 5 connections. 3 WiFi, 1 Bluetooth & 1 USB.

All iPads can connect via either WiFi or Bluetooth.

    Thank you blueroom - :)

Does any one know if the iPhone 4s (AT&T) can make/receive calls or handle texts while tethered to my iPad or any other devices by wifi or bluetooth connections?

Yes. It has no real effect on the iPhone. I do the same thing but in reverse. I keep my iPhone tethered to a 4G tablet for faster internet. Neither devices acts any differently while tethered.
