Hi all. I have a somewhat perplexing question. I have the opportunity to purchase a Verizon iPhone 6 (the standard 16GB gold model) from a friend. The phone is for Verizon in the United States, and I'm an AT&T customer (with no plans to change that anytime soon). My friend doesn't have the phone yet, but should be getting it fairly soon. My understanding is that he is using an upgrade to purchase the phone. So my question is as follows - if I purchase the phone from him, will I be able to put my AT&T SIM card into the Verizon iPhone 6 and use it and all the features? Thanks for any replies and assistance. I appreciate it a lot.

Are you talking about using AT&T's cellular network in a Verizon iPhone? I think the answer is no, you will not get full features in the situation you describe.
Yes, the Verizon phone is fully unlocked for use on GSM networks. It will work exactly the same on AT&T as an AT&T phone.
It will work with AT&T just fine. All of Verizon's LTE devices are unlocked and will work on most all US carriers (except Sprint).
This pertains to the iPhone 5, but should be fairly consistent with later models...
Specifically, the original GSM A1428 iPhone 5 (GSM/LTE 4, 17/North America), supports LTE bands 4 and 17, as well as UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz), and GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz). The subsequent GSM A1428 iPhone 5 (GSM/LTE/AWS/North America) still supports LTE bands 4 and 17 as well as the same network support as the original model, but adds AWS (1700/2100 MHz) support for T-Mobile and other carriers that support the AWS standard.
The CDMA A1429 iPhone 5 (CDMA/LTE, Sprint/Verizon/KDDI), supports LTE bands 1, 3, 5, 13, and 25, as well as CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1900, 2100 MHz), UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz), and GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz).

The first answer is wrong. It's well known that all Verizon iPhones since the 5 have been sold unlocked.
Are you sure it will connect to AT&Ts LTE network?
The Verizon iPhone 5 only gets AT&TS HSPA+
you couldn't be any more wrong. I've had a Verizon 5s and now a Verizon 6, both operating on AT&T with full LTE support, and all features work perfectly fine. While your chart was correct of the 5, the later models have become more universal. It has even come out now that if you get your hands on a T-Mobile phone, or an AT&T that's unlocked, and insert a Verizon SIM, the CDMA chip is no longer locked out as of the 6.

Ah ok. I was legitimately asking because I never tried with a 5S or my 6. Thanks for the info.
Appears the consenus is that a Verizon 6 model with work on at&t.
But can anyone confirm the speeds as just as fast/calls as clear in the same area?
Basically, I wondering if the verizon phone is somehow "handicapped" by doing it this way? Does the at&t model work better on at&t than the verizon model?
