Then how do you explain Honduras. One of the most dangerous Central American countries, but most law abiding citizens have guns.

These gangs/cartels/organized crime crews/ or whatever you want to call them, are using fully auto assault weapons and other restricted weapons. They are going to be an extreme danger regardless if someone is legally armed or not.

The point is (as stated in your link), it's gangs that are the everyday threat. Whether backed by government or not.

I'm not against citizens with guns. I'm 100% for it. What I'm against is those who think it's a solution. Unless the citizens form an army with an arsenal of weapons, the gangs will win 99% of the time.

I’m sure they regret having far too many illegal guns in the first place more, lol. Oh well.

It all boils down to are you an advanced society or the Wild West, a third world anarchy, or you are planning on a revolution. If you want to be advanced, there should no lethal weaponry being banded about. This is not a gun ban argument, but a keep guns off our streets for everyone. Now as far as the US, we’ve made our beds and now we can bleed in them.

Sure, you kneejerk counter is assured. I’ll resist answering it. ;)

Our humanitarian effort will arrive in the form of exported American jobs. Shareholders have a real soft spot for the citizens of impoverished desperate countries. Saints, really.

No need to plan for a revolution. But it’s always good to be prepared for one

IF they had guns. Legal or otherwise they would not be at the mercy of the govt like they are now

Well this country is in desperate need of one. The rich should stop complaining about the welfare class owning large flat screens and smart phones because those are probably what’s keeping them from completely snapping and attacking the real source of income inequality.

Guns are only one part of the equation, a well drilled, trained, and disciplined militia is necessary to secure the free State.

We've been creeping our way toward despotism for some time here in the US.

That generally applies to corrupt countries rather than democracies.

That's the gun grabbers MO. Take gun rights piece by piece.

And pox be upon law enforcement officers who thought "I'm LEO, I'll be exempt from the laws the little people have to follow."

Guess what? At the end of the day you're little people just like everyone else.

    Vote accordingly.

A 'gun grabbers' (sic) motive is to protect normal people from gun totting nutters.

Absolutely right. Guns will protect Americans from abuse by the US government, just like they did in Waco. And those puny firearms will be fine against howitzers, hellfire missiles, helicopter mounted chain guns, tanks, AC-130 gunships, daisy cutters and nukes that the US government would control if there was an insurrection. The idea the in the US revolution is necessary and viable is absurd nonsense. You have all you need to change the government: the vote. Exercising your franchise is also the best way of making sure that despots never gain control over the US. Don't like gun regulation, then use your vote. Like more gun regulation? Use your vote.

But there is a sizable part of the population that still support Maduro (for they remember how they were treated when the so called "democratic opposition" was in power), and those would have guns too.

Just like there are groups in Syria knowing that Assad is their life insurance.
