I ordered a 5S last Friday and I'll have it by Wednesday. I'm already on Verizon and was not eligible for an upgrade, so I paid full price. My question is, do I need to do anything to the phone when it arrives to use it, or has Apple already configured it to work on my plan?

The reason I ask (and I know I'm going to get yelled at for this) is that I can easily wait the month for them to be available in stores, and I see people selling on craigslist/ebay for twice what I paid. I didn't order it to sell, but if someone's willing to pay that much, and I don't mind waiting, why not?

Thanks very much in advance!

The phone that is shipped is not magically pre-configured for a given account. If you paid $399 (no contract) or $849 (no contract), the phone you receive is the same. When you put in the SIM, it will work with your account.

The phone only gets activated to your account when YOU activate it. You should be fine selling the phone you get and then waiting a month to use your upgrade.
