Out of the many product launch days that I've witnessed at this Apple store on 14th st here in NYC, today is the most quiet. It was just after nine in the morning, and there were no lines and very few customers inside. They didn't even create a new billboard atop the building to advertise the new iPad Pro 9.7 or iPhone SE.

I would have been holding my new iPad this morning if I have skipped the pre-order and just buy it from this store, LOL.

Is there an Apple logo on the store anywhere? If I were visiting NYC and just walking across the street, I wouldn't know that was an Apple Store.

And I want one of those Apple Pencil trays for holding the pencil, it's perfect, but I don't think they sell them.

Those do look pretty cool. Not sure if they sell those but I'm liking the look of these and they charge too. Even have a cap holder which is pretty cool that thing would be easy to lose while charging.

iPad Pro 9.7" easy to find in all colours and storage.... iPad Air 2 64GB in silver, sold out everywhere in town, it seems, had to get it at the Apple Store.

Thank you! Yes the little teeny cap and little teeny adapter to plug it into a lightning cable will find their way onto the floor and into the vacuum cleaner within weeks, so this might be a good solution.

Man, I really want an iPhone SE. :(

You march yourself down to that Apple Store and get yourself one right now! Life is too short to be unhappy. Apple or one of the carriers will finance it for you, don't worry, they want your money, lol.

Lol

Problem is that I just bought a Galaxy S7 Edge and I definitely won't swap it for the SE. I just want the SE to replace my 5s that I use on Wi-Fi pretty frequently. I'm planning on selling a bunch of my old devices to get one, though.

Wish I had the s7 just for next week when I go to Dubai. Want to use it to film sharks while I swim in the aquarium.

The pencils are just loose like that? How do they not get stolen?
My guess is an rfid chip or some type of tracker/alarm device inside the pencil. But I have never worked there nor visited a store more than a couple of times so I have no idea

Just fan boys now, Apple product hype besides the signature iPhone every year is dying a fast death.

I dropped into the Apple store near my house in Dallas and it was pretty much empty. I was the only one looking at the iPad Pro 9.7. No one looking. No one buying. At least when I was there.

No surprise here. Apple decides to deal with rapidly declining iPad sales by raising the price. Additionally, outside of the fanboys here on macrumors, even most iPad enthusiasts were disappointed in 2GB of RAM on a Pro device.

Get a chopstick holder. Ive seen long utensil trays like that in Chinatown and also a bamboo chopstick carrier that fit the pencil perfectly.

My local Apple store @6pm today was pretty much the same - no one was on the new iPads at all. The desk were completely void of people.

I've seen many pictures on Twitter of stores queued with people looking to buy these new iPad Pros. Some isolated cases of stores less busy doesn't really prove anything more than that store just didn't get the footfall many other stores are getting with this product launch.
