I took my new 32GB iPod Touch out for a walk and, unless I walk very carefully, it skips like a CD player. Something must be ill soldered? Should I return it immediately?

It could be a loose connection on the head phone jack to circuit board or it could be worn out headphone jack.

Try wiggling the plug while it is in the jack when you have music playing.

A loose jack could sound an awful lot like a skipping CD.

You didn't mention so you may have already tried this, but check it with a different pair of headphones too to make sure it's actually the iPod. If it is, return it right away.

When I first walked with my ipod the tunes kept changing. I had shuffle set to change when i shook the ipod. I turned that off and all is well. :) it is in settings/ music/ called shake to shuffle.

could this be the problem? just wondering.

Was the iPod Touch off as you were walking? Sometimes I accidentally leave it on and it skips. :D :apple:
