Video blurry on iPhone 5.

My wife took a video of my kids and texted it to me. it comes through clear on her phone and her moms iphone 4. however on my iphone 5 it looks horrible. not sure why.. I even had her mom retext it to me and its still blurry.

any ideas what would cause this?

Are you guys all on the same carrier? There might be some compression occurring when you send it as a MMS.

all on Verizon. it was an imessage.

It compresses over the cellular network. If you send the video on iMessage over wifi you should get full quality.

That never seems to matter for me. No matter if we're on wifi or cellular, my wife's and my videos to each other are always bad quality. We just started uploading them to YouTube and saving them to our external hard drive. They're private on YouTube and they can be shared and upload and play back in perfect quality.

how come it came through fine to her mom. only blurry to me.
