I have the strangest issues. I have a fully loaded Mac Studio and whenever i use Chrome or Safari and watching a YouTube video, Everything is fine. When i open a 2nd tab in either browser and go to it, The YouTube video is still playing. Audio is perfect. When i jump back to the YouTube tab the video skips and then catches up to where it left off. Almost like the video was paused but the audio wasnt.

Its a very small glitch but i never experienced this on any other Mac. Its almost like the video stops playing when you go to another tab (though the audio is still playing along ) and then when you go back to that tab, To watch the video, The video then jumps to the current point to match up with the audio.

I tried reinstalling everything, Even did a clean install of MacOS. I did a search and cant find anything on this issue.

Anyone have this issue?

I never have fewer than about thirty tabs open in Safari and play YouTube a lot. I've never seen this on my Mac Studio.

Its really quick, The video instantly skips to catchup with the audio. Next time your on YouTube, Play a video, open some tabs, Then come back to the video and look very closely if the video instantly jumps to sync with the audio.

I do have some odd issues. Many tabs open, usually in Brave, the sounds often slows down and the video stops. I have to copy the URL into a new tab (sometimes I have to do this twice).

Tried this, nope. It’s absolutely fine, no pausing or jumping at all.

I believe that this is a YouTube optimization. Why download the video content when you're in another tab - just play the audio and then resume video when you're back in the tab. This happens to me in Firefox but the video comes back after a second.
