Pretty much all of it.

Corporate branding was around long before Nazis, and using logos or insignias for advertising goes back centuries.

And you can absolutely "haggle" and get get discounts at Apple stores, because I've done it more than once, at more than one store.

Face it - you wanted to be a troll, and you came out flailing with absurd comparisons and speaking in absolutes that you have no idea about. I hereby step down as your pro bono life coach. Cheers.

haggling at apple store? i haggle when i buy fish at the local market, or with a drug dealer. but haggling at an apple store??? maybe where do u live you can haggle even taxes you pay to government but here in europe apple store its not local fish market! and no, im not trolling, i simply say thats apple its almost the only hi-tech company that have his own physical store where sells overpriced stuff. anyway, i give up with this community. seems there are more fanboys here than people that face the truth...

Overpriced or correctly priced? Sure they’re expensive, but if you’re not willing to pay what the other 300-400 million customers do each year, what can be done?

I am questioning if the Singaporean purchasing power is strong enough to justify this store...must be one of the more expensive ones. I have a feeling the Gov. had a hand in it to make it a tourist attraction.

It’s not the prettiest store, but man... it has to be one of the coolest. The amount of detail that went into this whole thing... 😳

Hope I can visit one day.

EDIT: I really love the mirrored stainless steel they use for the Forum Display and elevator. The Apple logo on the back of the display too. Sheesh. 🔥

I'll just be worshipping ths store from afar.

Arguing about the necessity of such grandeur design and materials fully dissociated with the fact that their product's profit margins is what allows them to do such expensive projects.

Apple set out to do standalone flagship structures in "community spaces" throughout Asia/tourist areas versus strip mall location that is cheaper and easier to scale in North America.

The high foot traffic guarantees return on investment for any over-the-top design choices they make even if Singapore is only an Island of 5 million people.

pretty sure Singaporeans have the purchasing power. Multiple phones on teenagers and their parents are not uncommon.

If you are talking about market size, there are tourist from the region. discounting the COVID situation, there’s quite a number of fans from around the region who comes over to SG to buy their Apple products, esp during launch.

I personally don’t believe physical revenue from this stor is their objective. It’s the branding.

p.s. this Apple store is part of one of the most expensive developments in the world (LV sands paying the Singapore government billions to build it). I highly doubt the government needs to subsidise this when they didn’t do so for whole complex in the first place.

Apple today opened its new Marina Bay Sands retail store in Singapore, and YouTube channel Superadrianme TV has produced a video walkthrough, embedded below, that gives viewers a real sense of what it's like to visit the stunning one-of-a-kind construction.

The video includes Apple's traditional clapping welcome for customers at an official store opening, the 45-meter-long underwater entrance tunnel from Basement 2 of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, and the long escalator ride to reach the top.

It also shows off the domed main floor, including the central oculus at the apex of the structure and the surrounding louvered blinds, which illuminate the interior while keeping customers protected from the scorching rays of the midday sun.

The store includes not only the usual product display areas and gigantic video wall anchoring The Forum, but also Apple's first underwater Boardroom for business meetings, training, and private events.

Apple Marina Bay Sands is the company's third retail store in Singapore, and opening-day visits were by reservation only, with reservations made through the store web page.

I am always amazed about apple's design and stores so I looked up who designed this apple store and it's Foster + Partners again. I guess Apple likes the work of them because they do a great job. After further research I even found out that Apple uses german parts and works with german companys for the apple stores. It's pretty amazing to see how apple uses different international companies to build their stores but it's pretty hard to find out where they get their parts from or who is the manufacturer of different parts.
