I work with a company that creates voicemail applications for IP and mobile network providers. We have been able to deliver visual voicemail messages to unlocked iphones on the T-Mobile network with EXACTLY the same user experience as AT&T!
The solution is quite complex and utilizes our voicemail systems (VMS, our servers) and messaging. We can offer this product but it would probably cost us $10-$15/month per user to make it worth our while (server, development, messaging and yes, legal costs to ensure we are 100% above board...).
Two questions:
1) how many unlocked iphones are on T-Mobile's network in the US (and other smaller GSM players)?
2) Would you be willing to pay $10-$15/month for visual voicemail?
