Doctors have long been warning about the dangers of the sun and skin cancer. They didn't realize the importance of Vitamin D, with adequate levels it improves muscle control, lower blood pressure, and arthritis. There are about 40% of Americans with a low level of Vitamin D. Just being in the sun for a ten minutes a day is enough. Scientists have convinced us not to be in the sun. What they have neglect is the need for Vitamin D and how to make for for the deficiency. Vitamin D is found in Salmon, milk, and supplements.

I remember once hearing a report on the radio from Australia about the prevalence of Vitamin D related conditions amongst Muslim women wearing the full burkha.

It was considered extremely rare as Australia is quite a sunny place.

If you live in high northern/southern latitudes or cloudy places (like London), then it could become a cause for concern...

I wonder how that female pro tennis player gets on? Can't remember her name off-hand but she's American, played in last years Wimbledon and avoids sunlight as much as possible. Has a complete fear of skin-cancer, apparently... anyway, her skin was like paper.
