iPhone Voicemail notification but no voice mail

Guys, every-so-often, I'll have the red circle that notifies of a new voicemail, however when I check there are no voicemails. Any idea why this happens?

I'm on EE in the UK, if that could be a factor.

That happens to me sometimes too (I'm on Three in the UK).

Phoning voicemail normally cures it for me. Never did find out why it does that.

Mine started after I got a new sim. I might call ee and speak with their tech team again - although they are somewhat rubbish at anything beyond simple things such as hard resetting etc
