No, this is not Jade Helm. However, after Sunday's biker melee the police charged 170 people with "engaging in organized crime linked to capital murder." which in Texas can result in capital punishment. Of course they won't, but theoretically all 170 of them could get the death penalty.

If ever there was an indictment of the ultimate folly of civilians walking around carrying firearms, I think this melee-come-bloodbath at a Texas chain restaurant has to be it.

Were these hardened desperados shooting it out over drug territory? Were they drawing down to settle old prison scores?

No. They were not. They were arguing over a parking space. Forsooth.

There are so many things utterly wrong with this story. Breastaurants. Strip Malls. The fact nine people ended up dead is just a tragic cherry on the crap sundae that America's love affair with bikes, guns, machismo, and mediocre food hath wrought.

I'm sorry but characterizing this incident as "organized crime" is an insult to real organized crime. Most of these numbnuts probably have more tattoos than they have teeth.

I'm curious how this gunfight ever got started, as we're told that the mere possibility that one carries a firearm is a deterrent against criminals.

The DoJ considers outlaw biker gangs organized criminals.

But yea, I get your point. The only thing uglier than these numbnuts is their "righteous mamas."

The more we hear the more of a cluster it seems.

The police are saying that Twin Peaks was warned but didn't cooperate, and apparently there was a HUGE police presence as everything went down.

I'm sure they all thought of themselves as responsible gun owners. And who knows? Maybe some of them were when they walked into Twin Peaks yesterday...

In the restroom? The officials said the fight started in the bathroom of the restaurant. Did a biker leave a floater and not flush? One biker peed on a rival gang? Don't tell me one of them farted the in general direction of a guy whose mother was hamster and whose father smelled of elderberries.

At least the fighting over parking space would have been more dignified.

Really? So you have people with guns ... confronting people they know also carry guns ... plus good guys with guns ... and this still happened?

    Impossible!

    Now you're getting it.

    Allegedly....

Point is, they could have been legal gun owners. Plenty of "responsible" gun owners aren't criminals until they are...

Oh come on, really? These are biker gangs. I will not have Americans' rights defined by what biker gangs are willing to do, and I am going to go out on a limb and saying that none or almost none of those arrested had a concealed carry license.

What's next? A Temperance Leaguer lecturing the forum on how this incident shows the danger of demon rum? Get real.

If they were criminal biker gangs, why would the cops just let them go out for a nice lunch?

Shouldn't they have been arrested on sight?

Police still have to have probable cause to arrest someone. You wouldn't want police to improperly profile people based on their appearance...

plenty of criminals on probation, you can't simply arrest them unless they break the law.
