Can you say EPIC FAIL?
haha epic fail indeed, though it's only fitting now, the accumulation of wealth is beyond anything now so not exactly suprising
Agreed. I find it highly ironic.
I can't even imagine what they were thinking. How can anyone think this would be a good idea?
Greed is blind.
I wonder if they will also machine gun those trying to scale the wall to get into the concert.
Tickets to a free concert?
Often venues have limited capacity and tickets although free are distributed to only allow the ticketed individual in the venue.
Too funny... they should do what Chi-town did for Obama's election night rally and put up some screens so people can have a street party. They handled that one fairly well. More recently, Chicago had a grand opening of their Holocaust museum, and Bill Clinton spoke, and they went through this elaborate business of signing up online and waiting to be granted tickets, and then it turned out that the tickets were not even for entry to the opening ceremony by him, but rather one could stand outside in the winter on a rainy day and listen to it on speakers, because accessibility was limited to "VIPs" ....
That's pretty sad. I wonder who thought it was a good idea?
Oh. I've always thought of free concerts in terms of Woodstock -- open air and who ever arrives first. Man, I'm getting old.
This sounds like a job for...
Lol. I take your point, but tempus fugit, as they say.
Agree completely with yg17, (and everyonbe else) it is indeed, an epic fail, but one which does not surprise me, unfortunately.
certainly not surprising. but still silly.
Hopefully the wall will be soundproofed...
MTV is the enemy.
Yes. Those outside of the wall should not be subject to the torture that is U2's music
MTV sucks, and U2 hasn't been good since Achtung Baby. If I lived in Berlin, I'd insist to be paid for putting up with them. That- or they could send Larry Mullen over to spend the night. That would be OK.
You and your mysterious ways....

Achtung, as long as you're on the right side of the wall......baby.
Free tickets to celebrate Fall of the Berlin Wall
14.99 for DVD just in time for Christmas.
That's Rise of the Copyright Wall
How ridiculous. Brilliant irony though.
I keep noiticing that while Germany is very efficient, clever and organized, that it often comes with the price of complete control freakery, even over the most trivial things. My personal experience with this is limited but that's what I've heard and observed. Seems to fit in this situation.
Yeah I would consider myself lucky to be out the outside of that wall.
Bonio is a muppet.
Really annoying, 100% with Dr Kermode on this one.
