i have my mbp connected to my samsung at 1080p which my tv supports.

Everything is fine but after about 8 hours the wall paper and the desktop backgrounds both turn grey.

sometimes the grey bar at the top turns black...

The only resolve I've found for this is pulling out the HDMI plug and putting it back in or logging out and logging back in.

nothing else is effected but I do find it really annoying when the wallpaper turns to a grey screen and the bottom dock looks greyish and the top grey bar turns black.....

You aren't alone when it comes to experiencing this problem, but there are better solutions when it comes to fixing this:
1. Open Terminal
2. type in command 'killall Dock' (without the quotes)
3. Fix'd

There hasn't actually been any legitimate remedy for this, and seems to only occur when having an external display connected.
