    Specs:

    2011 Macbook PRO 13" - 2.3ghz, 320gb HDD, 4gb ram.

First off, I would like to upgrade my RAM to 8gb - I ideally want the ram to be as fast as possible, will this do the job?

or is there a better option?

Secondly, I want an SSD, 120gb should be sufficient. Does this macbook pro support sata 3? Can I get any sata 3 SSD or does it have to be a specific kind? (I've heard about TRIM but not too sure what that means)

    Thanks

I believe the fastest RAM your generation support is 1333mhz (PC3 10666) so you're all set there. Crucial is known for making great stuff.

For SSDs, your MBP supports SATA3 in the traditional HDD slot. I believe currently the fastest SSD is the Vertex 3 by OCZ, although I haven't been following them too much since I bought my own. I personally have a Crucial C300, although they now have a newer generation out or coming out very soon.
