Amazing what you can do when you aren't supporting them in order to topple Assad.

Amazing what happens when people don't really read articles but just make things up.

Well, Trump said he knows more than the generals. And he never lies. ;)

I love how the political team hooligans react to information like this. Gotta love the squabbling.

Republicans blame Obama for ISIS. Democrats say Obama prepared Trump for the defeat. Republicans will say no, Obama underestimated ISIS and let them proliferate. Democrats will blame Bush for creating the power vacuum that brought rise to ISIS.

This same debate happened with Obama killing Bin Laden.

It lends itself to a bigger argument, at what point is a president responsible for successes or failures for issues created by previous presidents.

well in fairness, Iran has been active against ISIS, primarily in iraq tho, but certainly they deserve part of the credit for the defeats ISIS has suffered over the last year or so in Iraq......and now that there's something of a stampede to get positioned for the aftermath of defeating ISIS in Syria, Iran will be there to claim some rewards too

I should have made my sarcasm a little more obvious. I'm not sure the Syrian Iraqi border matters much at the moment.
It could get really messy. Israel is not going to tolerate a situation favorable to Hezbollah.

actually the syria/iraqi border does, or is about to matter quite a bit once ISIS has lost the border territory it's occupied for the last several years. Whoever gains control of the border lands will gain control of the few highway routes from iran to hezbollah......something iran definitely wants and one reason why they've been focussed on the fighting to retake western iraq. Obviously israel is opposed to what Iran wants......it could indeed get real messy

Im actually okay with him taking credit for getting rid of them if that is what truly happens. We shall see.

He can get credit for removing ISIS, still won't solve anything. We've taken out Bin Laden, Saddam and now ISIS, but unfortunately you can't take out an ideology. My guess is that ISIS is dismantled and goes back to operating from cells across the world as they have been.

Get rid of one group another one will fill the void and take its place.
