Not sure what forum this should go in. This morning I received a warning email say someone attempted to log into my account from Roma, Italy. It said the operating system was an iPhone 8.

It said to review my login activity to ensure no one is attempting to use my account.

I'm pretty sure it's bogus, but in case it's not, how would I log in to check the accounts activity?

The only link on the warning its a PDF file that I'm definitely NOT going open.

Apple wouldn’t send you important details like that in some PDF.

Apple wouldn’t say an iPhone 8 was an operating system either!

If you go to settings in iOS and click on the top setting/iCloud details, it should tell you what devices have access to your account.

Also, if you click on the senders name on the email, it will tell you the senders real email address, ie. a scammer might have set the senders name to say ‘iCloud admin’ etc but once you click on the name it’ll show an email address which isn’t an official Apple one...

That's a really common phishing email. Can't begin to say how many times I've received similar emails. Delete it and go on about your life. I get numerous phishing emails to my Apple mail account all the time.

I'm sure the email had a link to log into to check your stuff, and probably didn't even have your name in the email. That's a phishing email, and you'd be surprised how easy it is to trick people to clicking on those links.

Your account wasn't hacked and if it was, got to apple directly and deal with them. I never click on links that come through emails. Its like discussing my credit card over the phone with an anonymouse person who purports to be with Amex. Yeah, I'm not about to give my account details to a stranger, likewise, I'm not about to click on a link

Thanks to all. I get a lot of phishing and I figured this was probably that. Strangely enough, the "right" click on the senders address showed nothing where do this almost always does show a phony shows one (like .ru).

If you get a lot of phishing maybe you should explore your system/add-ons or call/ visit an Apple Store? No one is immune forever!
