I got some of dem warts on my big toe. It's those tiny, cauliflower-like warts. I got 4 of 'em.

I was going to wait to go to the dermatologist to have them frozen off, but I want them gone now.

Is there any over-the-counter stuff that can kill them good?

When I was a kid I had a wart on my thumb and one just below my index finger. My family took a trip to Montana and the warts went away. I have been wart free for the last 20 years. I would highly recommend it, especially if you like the outdoors. :)

If there plantar warts they are a pain to get rid of. you can try the freeze spray over the counter the problem is if they are plantar warts they have a large callus over them to protect them. The finger like warts your describing may respond to it. You can also try duct tape there was a nice study about it. Good luck

Scotch (cellophane) tape. Apply completely around the finger covering the wart, and change daily. Covering them like that softens them with the retained warmth & moisture, and changing the tape pulls off a bit every time painlessly. Takes a couple of weeks or so to remove them completely. Sanitary and cheap.

For the more chemically-minded, acetone (nail polish remover). Apply a single small drop to the wart two or three times a day, no more. Slowly dissolves them.

Don't combine the methods - the acetone will eat through the tape.

In general, though, they will work themselves out. I used to have about three or four when I was a kid, and as I got older, they just simply went away.

Pretty much like JohnNotBeatle says, the issue is that scotch tape, duct tape, acetone, and wart acid don't actually kill the plantar virus. Your own body's immune system does. The callous protects the wart from your body. So by softening the callous, scrubbing it, wrapping it, and irritating it you are stimulating your body's immunological attack. They are very annoying.

You can try an over-the-counter freezing kit or cream (the Compound W brand works pretty well), but like runningman said, depending on what type of warts they are, you may or may not get results.

Do you have to go to the dermatologist? My regular doctor was able to freeze off the wart I got on my foot last year so I didn't have to wait for an appointment with a specialist.

Yeah if it's a genital wart you have to watch the snipping.
The studies I have read talk more about duct tape cut to a little bit bigger than the size of the wart. And changing every couple days.
As far as the callus it actually protects it from outside forces rather than inside forces.
Though as said most warts will eventually be eliminated after a while it just is that the time will vary before your body takes care of them.

Banana peel taped to spot at night.

enzymes in peel eat away at it.

never tried since never had warts. :D
but other people swear by it.

Here's my trick, but I had a huge hole in my finger for a month. :)

Had 4 doctor freezing treatments, tried duct tape and bananas everything! It was killing me. So I ended up taking a vicodin and ripping it out.

I had a friend who used some dry ice to burn off his own wart a couple of years ago. Granted this was dry ice out of our laboratory stock! He ended up getting a massive granuloma on his finger over the course of a couple of days and required microsurgery to fix it.

It looked exactly like this.

So be careful with the do it yourself remedies!

I've used the plier type toenail clippers on warts and such.

Painful when you do it, especially alcohol on it after.

But at least it is gone in a couple of days, if you dig down deep enough.

I wouldn't recommend the pliers one it will hurt like hell two it usually leaves a piece that will regenerate. If you're going down this vein you could recommend a small rodent to gnaw away

This will sound stupid as hell, but it's an old family remedy that has worked for every wart I ever had and every wart anyone in my family ever had....

Get someone to buy it from you.
Seriously. :)

You have to make the deal with a straight face, you have to believe it and the person buying it has to believe it. Works every time.
