Again thank you. Thats very helpfulI doubt disabling the gps and/or using a VPN would make any difference at all.

Exactly. Starting in iOS 12.2, availability of ECG is geofenced. Meaning buying the watch in a supported region is no longer enough to be able to activate ECG the app.Now it must be activated while located in a supported region. That’s because you’re in U.K. but if you had moved to country that doesn’t support ECG, what now?
My understanding is that it won’t let you activate it because it’s not supported in the region.
No, Apple uses carrier data to determine location rather than the GPS or the IP address (the latter of which is what a VPN would mask).Would using a VPN not work and place yourself in Australia ?
Anyone have any idea how to enable ECG...? No option under Health app, not under Apple Watch app, no ECG app. iOS 12.2, WatchOS 5.2. Reset both devices. Neither have beta profile anymore. Tried switching to US language and back again. Model is European A2008 version, UK. Lost ♂
thanks! but does that also get around the carrier check that apple introduced in iOS 12.2 to prevent people from doing the initial setup to activate the app for the first time while physically located in an unsupported country or territory? There is a new way to enable the ECG in any country and its very easy
here is the link and you can do it very easy
