I've noticed since upgrading to watchOS 4.2 that I can no longer silently ask Siri to turn off a light etc. She always screams back, "ALL SET!" or "DONE!" despite the option in Siri settings on the Watch to honor Silent mode. I've tried toggling this option on and off, numerous reboots etc.

Interestingly, if I ask her, "What's the time in England," she does NOT speak back to me unless I turn off Silent mode on the Watch (which I leave on at all times anyway). This tells me this is a bug in HomeKit Siri commands (at the very minimum).

Anyone else noticed this? It's super duper annoying..!

I am having this same issue with siri as well. I dont use homekit but when using siri to send a message or create a reminder, she responds audibly, and super LOUD at that! Not only siri but phone calls come ringing in audibly even though it is set to silent mode. Wow, what an obvious and super disruptive bug.

I just left a bug report on apple’s website.

Thank you. Hopefully they fix this sooner rather than later. It’s mega disruptive as you say!

So...im totally ratting myself out. I was going through settings and under ‘siri’ i saw that the voice always on setting was ticked...yeah. I don’t know how this happened. I suppose after the update, it turned this part of the settings on when it used to be control with silent mode. o_O:p

Works like a charm now... :/

Mine is still set to “Control with Silent Mode.” It’s definitely broken. Reminders, as you say, aren’t broken. But HomeKit commands she yells back at me.
