Bundy, Sterling and Palin. Has the US turned a corner? Are we finally sick and tired of the bull ****?

Faithful America, a large online community of Christians, has launched an effort to publicly denounce former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin after she mocked one of the religion’s most important rituals by comparing it to waterboarding.

Speaking at the National Rifle Association (NRA) convention last week, Palin had explained how things would be different if she were president.

“They obviously have information on plots to carry out jihad,” Palin said of terrorists. “Oh, but you can’t offend them, can’t make them feel uncomfortable, not even a smidgen. Well, if I were in charge, they would know that waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists.”

By Tuesday, Faithful America had already reached its goal of 15,000 signatures on a petition condemning Palin for the remarks.

“This is what we’ve come to in America: A former candidate for vice-president can equate torture and Holy Baptism, and one of the nation’s most powerful political lobbies erupts into cheers and applause,” Faithful America noted. “As usual, Palin’s remarks are already making international headlines, once again portraying Christianity as a religion of hatred and violence.”

Oh gosh, Snowbilly McGrifter put some more word-type things together, and look! Explicitly linking the GWOT to her religion. Kinda like the terrorists she criticizes.

She's catching a lot of flack for this one too. Putting troops in harms way is no joking matter.

I think Princess Dumbass of the Northwoods may have sped up her clock, it now reads 14:55. Her popularity is disappearing rapidly.

I'm as likely to be President as Sarah Palin.
What does that have anything to do with it? This woman was very close to being in a position of power over the country, we need to take a step back and realize that people like this need to be squashed before ever getting to the level of being part of a presidential campaign. This is dangerous, and demonstrates how truly dangerous the GOP is for this country.

She's squashed. She'll never hold a political power position again. What else shall we do?

I'm hardly surprised that Sarah Palin would stoop to such a blatantly un-Chirstian sentiment in her speech.

What I found so appalling is the way the NRA audience cheered her revolting words.

But then, for a long time the NRA has ceased to be much more than a fundraising tool for the darkest, nastiest reaches of Neocon America.

We should make sure no one who is ideologically remotely similar to her also doesn't hold a political power position ever again. That cuts out a huge chunk of the GOP potential candidates. Those NRA backwoods morons in the room with her cheered and applauded her idiotic remarks, these are the people who comprise the GOP voting base and it's dangerous that they have the numbers to put someone like Palin into power. We need to keep these people in check. They're a national danger and their extremism is only growing.

It's easy, not to mention fun, to make fun of Bible Spice but at least she's not in office affecting policy like say, Marsha Blackburn.

Everyone cares too much.

The "NRA audience" also loves the Founding Fathers. Well, guess what-- George Washington came out against torture during the Revolutionary War (torture has been around a million years). Post 9/11, the surge in use of these methods had much more to do with getting even than getting "intelligence", and, the blowback in Iraq was ugly.

Agreed on this. She's not in office. This is a non-story until she runs for something.
That's how I see Palin. She has all the attributes of a Paris Hilton or a Kim Kardashian, or Chelsea Clinton.

So don't care what comes out their faces. Some people do though for some strange reason.

She acts as target practice for the left. She needs to knock it off.

It's like Bill-O talks about Sean Penn, or Bill Mahar. I so don't care.

The left needs to do something else with their time. I'm sure there is an abortion clinic that needs a candy striper somewhere.
