WD my Passport Ultra very loud fan

Is it normal that I can hear the My Passport so hard?
It's a relieve when I turn the hard drive off. The fan sound like an MacBook Pro when it under some stress.

Is this normal or do I got a faulty hard drive? The speed is normal.

Okay the my Passport Ultra don't got a fan. So it's really just the sound of the harddrive 'working'.

Anyone know a external drive that it more silent?

Solid State Drives (SSD) are really silent as they do not have a spinning platter.

Yeah I know. I got a 256gb SSD in my iMac 5K. This why I need a external drive.
And a 2TB SSD would be a little overkill for my uses.
