I have a Macbook 5,1 (late 2008). I still have the 160HDD that came with it and I want to change it.
Wich one is the best solution?
WD Scorpio Blue 750 GB Sata Hard Drives (WD7500BPVT)
Seagate Momentus XT 500GB 2.5 7200rpm Hibrido (ST95005620AS)

I just installed the moments XT 750gb. It has some upgrades over the 500gb version. No problems so far and seems plenty fast over my previous 5400rpm drive.

I heard about some performance issue and spinning beach ball, it doesn't seem to be your case. What is your Mac model?

I've got two Seagate Momentus XTs, they are great drives. The first release drives did have an issue with powering down when idle but that was fixed via a firmware updating ages ago.

I can confirm the drive is good, I've never had an issue with beach balling. Again it also depends on if you're trying to either get more space and a little more battery life or more speed (the XT are snappy drives).

I will give it a try :)
What version of Sata firmware do I need to have and how can I see it. I read something about the 1.7 version had some problems.
