Just remember, there is no GOP "war on women". (Just on women's rights.)

Remember Hobby Lobby? Perhaps a corporation, with its assertive personhood, should be referred to as "he"?

As for Hobby Lobby? I think he should just go jump in a lake.

If he believes the only reason people should be having sex is for reproductive reasons then he is technically correct in his comment.

If that is indeed the case, then he is in no position whatsoever to judge what reasons that a couple are having sex, morally, politically, or otherwise.

It is not his place, and should be reminded as such.

After reading an entire article that describes a person so idiotic it almost reads like a satire, THIS is your only comment about it?

Besides...what do his archaic views of sex have to do with giving people free pregnancy tests as opposed to birth control? Why do conservatives feel the need to shove their "moral" agendas down everybody's throats? I hate this mentality. But let them keep it up, soon it will lead to the final nail in the GOP coffin.

I'll tell you another thing...if this idiot lived in an even more socially backward country, he would be pushing legislation to mandatorily give every woman who enters a bar a pregnancy test before she can drink. He's just too much of a coward to show his true views so he passes whatever legislation is closest to them. "War on fetal alcohol syndrome"....lol how very Christian of him. How about a war on poverty, or a war on child hunger, or a war on homeless veterans. Nahhh, let's just keep passing laws to go with our twisted view of female reproduction.

is the pill(etc.) that expensive in the US that it needs to be covered under insurance ?
i'm gonna get flamed but checking prices it's around 6-18 euro around here per month ...

teenagers (<20) are covered here(rightfully so) to prevent teenage pregnancy, but if you are a grown up and earning your own money it's hardly breaking the bank

honestly how much can you actually buy for 8 euro? that's less than a telephone contract, can't buy you a meal with a drink at a restaurant, isn't enough to go to the movies alone, buys you perhaps 2 beers at a normal bar, not enough to buy you a shirt, 2 days of groceries

It's not that expensive here either, we (liberals) just don't think that women should have to be paying for something that's considered reproductive health. It shouldn't cost anything with health insurance.

I completely agree that what he is trying to do is moronic. With that being said, I do not think birth control should be a required part of health insurance.

If birth control is something that is "considered reproductive health" than should not condoms be included in that?

Show some responsibility and self control. As pointed out the pill is not expensive so just go buy some, with your own money, and be happy; have all the sex you want on your own dime. What irks me is that I am supporting someone elses irresponsibility and/or lack of control.

Your view of birth control as being something just for irresponsible women with no self control is the issue here. This is where the success of right wing propaganda comes into play. Birth control medication is prescribed for a large variety of reasons, including to many married women. So if condoms can lower your cancer risk, clear your skin, give you lighter and less painful periods, relieve PMS, and relieve endometriosis and PCOS, then yes, they should be covered by insurance as well....

Porn is free. No hookers needed. Worst counter argument I've seen in a long long time. And yes, prostate exams are definitely covered.

Free porn is usually not in HD. How do you know sd porn is good enough for everyone? Some may need hookers or viagra. How about people who are addicted to :apple: products. i think i should get a free macbook per year. Its required for my psychological health.

It's all fine and dandy that the pill helps with other things. My sister is on birth control pills for other reasons than birth control. She also pays her fair share for those pills.

Being provided "free" birth control pills for for the sake of birth control is wrong. If you are wanting the pill purely for the birth control aspect of it then pay for the **** thing. If you can show medical necessity for the pill then great. Get a doctor to write a prescription and have at it.

Yes, it's covered. On top of that, Medicare (our NHS for people 65 and up) also covers things like erection pumps.

I totally agree with prostuff. I also think that for serious health issues the pill would have to be covered if the law povides health care.
Just not for birth control only.

How about the argument that while we give all this free **** we pay 40% of each dollar in interest?

Free **** needs to go for both men and women.

Free? You mean like when you pay insurance premiums and tax dollars from your paycheck?

I would rather my tax dollars be spent on universal healthcare than on wars in the cesspool that is the Middle East. But we don't always get what we want do we?
