I've unlock quite a few iPhone but I have never seen anything like this. A friend brought his iPhone to me to see if I can fix it. I can't shut down, re-start, or put the phone in dfu mode. Here's the message I get on the screen.

Singleuser boot -- fsck not done
Root device is mounted read-only

If you want to make modifications to files:

/sbin/fsck -fy
/sbin/mount -uw /

If you wish to boot the system:
exit

Aug 10 18:35:02 launch[10]: can't exec/bin/sh for single user: No such file or directory
