I use gmail and mail.app together for all my emailing needs. However, whenever my girlfriend sends me a document from her university IMAP account using Thunderbird, the document is not a downloadable file, but rather, it is embedded with the message. I can log into gmail and download the file just fine, but why should I do that. I've received other files from other people with no problems, why is this an issue?

I am using Tiger 4.9 btw
