Do you realize, most of the people that have ever tried to change the world for the better has been shut up? It's true! Don't believe me?

Abraham Lincoln - Assassinated on April, 15 1865

    Mohandas Gandhi - Assassinated January 30, 1945

John Ftzgerald Kennedy - Assassinated November 22, 1963

Martin Luther King Jr. - Assassinated April 4, 1968

    John Lennon - Assassinated December 8, 1980

Now, I am not saying everyone who has tried to change the world has been killed, I just find this interesting.

(John Lennon spoke out against the gov't so it's weird that he was assassinated)

I would not say most people are killed who are trying to chain the world. I think the only one we learn about seem to be the ones that where killed as almost trying t chain the world leaves a lasting impression in the history books. People seem to blow over the others that chain the world that where not killed and that number is by far a lot higher.

Some of the names on the list if they where not killed they would be little more than a foot note in our history books. Lincon I can promise you would not be a very big deal. Martin Lurther King Jr. Would be talk about but he would not be talk about as much as he is now nor would their be a day for him.

Also as for being killed when one is leading a huge cause that will have 2 large camps one of them very strongly disagree with person it just means more people will try to kill that person. I can promise you that there are people out there who want to kill Bush for what he is doing. People do not like him and to him the entire Iraq stuff is all his fault (and it is not all his fault. He is not the only player in it) Some of the policy is wants to put forth are strongly disagreed with. It just painting at target on the person. Hell I pretty sure every president had a group of people who wanted to kill him. Just I pretty sure Bush is a much larger number than we seen in the past.

You've left a few people out. For the religious types, there's Jesus. All of these people (except maybe Lennon, I like him and all, but not sure he fits in here) were actually capable of actually making some of the changes they were talking about. Those who killed them did so because they obviously didn't like those changes. More reasonable people don't go to such extents, so the ones making the changes for the worse who seem to have people hating them for more legitimate reasons don't seem to attract the same types of nutcases.

Though I would like to point out that most of the reasons given for why most of the above were killed had little to do with the good they were doing.

It's a slow day at work, and somebody had to do it. :D

    1) Lincoln was elected in 1860, Kennedy in 1960, 100 years apart

    their wives.

    4) Each wife had lost a child while living at the White House.

    5) Both men were killed by a bullet that entered the head from behind.

    6) Lincoln was killed in Ford's Theater. Kennedy met his death while

riding in a Lincoln convertible made by the Ford Motor Company.

    7) Both men were succeeded by vice-presidents named Johnson who were

    southern Democrats and former senators.

    8) Andrew Johnson was born in 1808. Lyndon Johnson was born in 1908,

    exactly one hundred years later.

    9) The first name of Lincoln's private secretary was John, the last

name of Kennedy's private secretary was Lincoln.

    10) John Wilkes Booth was born in 1839 [according to some sources] Lee

Harvey Oswald was born in 1939, one hundred years later.

    11) Both assassins were Southerners who held extremist views.

    12) Both assassins were murdered before they could be brought to trial.

    15) ANDREW JOHNSON and LYNDON JOHNSON each has 13 letters.

    16) JOHN WlLKES BOOTH and LEE HARVEY OSWALD each has 15 letters.

However, people forget some people who want change realize that martyrdom could cause just as much change as when the person is alive.

Yes, I have heard of that.

"WOW" was meant to be like a "Thank you for posting that". I wasn't being sarcastic.

    MythBusters is my favourite show!

No, there was apparently one person in each case who thought otherwise.
