I think the US population in 1938 was hesitant to allow Jews in at the time because Jewish extremism was rampant - pilots were being burned alive in cages, concert-goers were being executed, gays were being beheaded, human shields were being employed, a declaration had been made that an attack on DC was imminent, etc.

The similarities to the current situation are endless.

    Great analogy.

    Really.

    Great.

Let's go back and ask them what they thought about gays, black people, Russians ... you'd get a similarly bigoted response.

In all honesty, objectively, we're living in an extremely tolerant age - yet with some extremely intolerant people. It's a very disconcerting time right now - how we could have made so many strives towards peace and equality, yet feel closer to a world war than ever before (personally speaking, of course).

Flash forward to today, my understanding is that of the 8 Paris terrorists, 7 of them were European Nationals. So much for shutting down Syrian refugees as a solution.

I'm sure some members of the media would have made those claims about the Jews, yes.

These refugees are running from the same terrorists we're fighting. Please don't dismiss those who have lost everything and are just trying to survive as "terrorists" just to fit a political agenda.

you assume there are no terrorist among the refugees, I am assuming there are, we have no need to find out if I am right because if I am we will experience our own Paris terror attacks on our soil.

You assume the millions of starving refugees fleeing from their war torn homes to other countries are all terrorists, really?

    1) it's just a poll
    2) How much do you think the average American knew about what was going on in Germany in 1938? They certainly couldn't have predicted the mass murders that were about to occur.
    3) US foreign policy was totally different.

After WW1, and still the midst of The Great Depression, the vast majority of Americans were understandably opposed to any involvement in what was happening in Europe.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Coulter likely goes against the beliefs of most of today's Republicans. That being said, it would be nice to see some of them denounce her.

So due to the possibility that some may take action at some time in the future, all should be denied entry? So the actions of a few can be used to generalize a whole population? Hmm, such a broad brush being used here.

Interesting how if we change the overall topic to **** instead of refugees, you have a completely opposite opinion.

No, we should only exclude those who would wish to wreak havoc and do us harm.

Can I borrow your crystal ball when you're not using it, please.
