Do you think we will finally have true unlimited data? The rumors I saw is that it will have 1GB per second speeds. Because if it could load a whole YouTube video in like 1 second. There wouldn't be no traffic congestion because by the time the person finishes watching the video they would have been 3-10 minutes off the network.

That would be more of a carrier/provider type of thing essentially unrelated to iPhone/Apple.

It's basically been confirmed the 2018 iPhones will have Gigabit LTE.

That's already a massive increase in throughput for average or below average signal strength conditions. Anyone in an urban area working in an office tower or riding transit underground will appreciate the benefits.

5G won't be available in iPhone until 2019 at the earliest.

When is the last time Apple was first too jump on a new technology. They will be 3 years behind everyone else before adding it.
How did that apply to things like multi-touch on capacitive touchscreens, Siri, Touch ID, Face ID, 3D Touch, etc.?

It doesn’t matter if they have in 2018 really because, contrary to all the isp’s and everyone harping about it, really it’s several years away still and will be a relatively slow rollout.

5G is still a long way off. It's still in the experimental testing phase. You'll be seeing 5G billboards and ads and writing in the sky toting 5G long before you'll be able to use it on an iPhone. 2020 or 2021 in very select areas is my guess.

You will never get unlimited data because that is a fake scarcity created by wireless carriers for the sole purpose of charging people for data usage. There is absolutely no technical reason why there needs to be data caps. In the old days we had truly unlimited data, minutes, and SMS, but they added fees on them just to make more profits.

No, data caps do not help with network traffic management at all. What helps with that is throttling.
